[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Binance Asia-Pacific head S.B. Seker said in an interview with Nikkei Asia that the company plans to secure five additional regulatory licenses in Asia this year. It aims to increase the number of jurisdictions where it is authorised worldwide to more than 20.
Binance currently holds regulatory approvals in six Asia-Pacific countries, including Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand. South Korea will also be added to the list of authorised jurisdictions when the acquisition of Gopax is completed.
Seker did not specify which markets it is targeting for the new licenses. He only said some markets are in the "final stage."
