Cucon, Koscom cooperate on converting public data to standard APIs
Cucon will work with financial IT and data services firm Koscom to support the conversion of public-sector data to standard APIs and help build a secure foundation for data use. The companies said they signed a strategic business partnership agreement on July 29. The partnership is aimed at responding to changes to the enforcement decree of the Personal Information Protection Act taking effect on Aug. 20.

Meituan releases LongCat-2.0 as open source, trained on 50,000 Chinese-made ASICs
Meituan has released its LongCat-2.0 AI model, previously known by the codename \"Owl Alpha\", as open source on GitHub, Hugging Face and its own platform. The model uses a 1.6 trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts architecture and supports a 1 million-token context window under the MIT licence. Benchmark scores include 59.5 on SWE-Bench Pro. Meituan said it trained the model on a cluster of more than 50,000 Chinese-made ASICs without Nvidia GPUs.

Anthropic AI costs soar, corporate clients complain they cannot predict bills
More companies are feeling the burden as Anthropic raises prices for its AI tools, with some saying costs are hard to predict. The Information reported that Anthropic customers such as PagerDuty and ServiceNow cannot forecast this year’s spending, and ServiceNow has already used up its annual budget. Executives said Anthropic does not automatically provide detailed employee-level usage data or service-level agreements covering performance and support response times.
