OpenAI unveils GPT-6.1 Terra, cuts prices and boosts coding performance
OpenAI has launched its mid-tier AI model GPT-6.1 Terra and started offering it through ChatGPT Work, Codex and a developer API. The model targets everyday office tasks such as reading on-screen content, clicking apps and drafting replies. OpenAI said it halved standard API fees for developers connecting the model to their apps. It also reported lower factual error rates and higher coding-agent performance in internal tests, alongside faster processing speeds.

Cucon, Koscom cooperate on converting public data to standard APIs
Cucon will work with financial IT and data services firm Koscom to support the conversion of public-sector data to standard APIs and help build a secure foundation for data use. The companies said they signed a strategic business partnership agreement on July 29. The partnership is aimed at responding to changes to the enforcement decree of the Personal Information Protection Act taking effect on Aug. 20.

Meituan releases LongCat-2.0 as open source, trained on 50,000 Chinese-made ASICs
Meituan has released its LongCat-2.0 AI model, previously known by the codename \"Owl Alpha\", as open source on GitHub, Hugging Face and its own platform. The model uses a 1.6 trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts architecture and supports a 1 million-token context window under the MIT licence. Benchmark scores include 59.5 on SWE-Bench Pro. Meituan said it trained the model on a cluster of more than 50,000 Chinese-made ASICs without Nvidia GPUs.
