Cucon will cooperate with Koscom, a financial IT and data services company, to support the conversion of public-sector data to standard APIs and help build a secure foundation for data use.

Cucon said on July 30 it signed a strategic business partnership agreement on July 29 to create a secure environment for data use.

The agreement was 추진됐다 to respond to revisions to the enforcement decree of the Personal Information Protection Act that take effect on Aug. 20. With the revision expanding the scope of the right to request personal information transmission to all fields, information transmitters such as public institutions will build a standard API-based information transmission system in stages.

Until now, financial companies have used data needed for credit assessment, product sign-ups and document submission through scraping methods under outsourcing contracts with Cucon.

The two companies plan to support the transfer of data through Koscom, a specialized intermediary institution, while reducing the burden on financial companies of system changes and development during the API conversion process at public institutions.

Cucon will build a hybrid operating system that runs both standard APIs and existing scraping methods. Financial companies can switch public data to the API method without major changes to existing systems, and can also use the existing method during API outages or maintenance to reduce service disruptions.

Cucon will support clients' API conversions based on its experience operating a business data platform. Koscom, as an all-sector MyData specialized intermediary institution, will handle data transmission intermediation between information transmitters and recipients, standardization of transmission systems, and verification of transmission requests.

The two companies will cooperate on the conversion of public-sector standard APIs, technical support for building internal API systems for information transmitters, and support for combining and using pseudonymised information in the public sector. They plan to draw up an action plan for converting public-sector standard APIs and provide joint guidance and technical support to target institutions.
