Six information security international standards finally approved, Korea speeds push to lead AI, 6G security standards
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said 6 international standards and 2 technical reports proposed by Korea were finally approved at an ITU-T SG17 meeting in Geneva held from June 1 to 10. It said 14 new standardisation items were also approved and 7 international standards were pre-adopted. The approved standards include software supply chain security threats and security guidelines for digital collection services using distributed ledger technology.

Sparrow to unveil \'Sparrow MCP\' for coding AI security
Application security company Sparrow held its annual customer event, SAI 2026, in Seoul on June 11 to assess security threats facing development environments centered on open source and AI coding and to share responses. Supply chain security researcher Lee Man-hee spoke on changing supply chain security and corporate strategies. Sparrow CEO Jang Il-soo said SBOM management should be expanded to track AI models and AI-generated code, and the company proposed Sparrow MCP to verify security from the code generation stage.

Security companies are accelerating efforts to counter threats that exploit AI models, with momentum building around agentic AI-based security. Zscaler introduced two security products for AI agents and an AI Access Graph, while Check Point launched agent-based exposure validation. Concerns are rising over a “patch gap” as AI can find vulnerabilities and write attack code within hours. Companies including Rubrik, Samsung SDS and others also announced new products and partnerships.
