KT to introduce sign-ups without IDs or passwords from October
KT will introduce an authentication system from next month that allows users to sign up and log in without an ID or password. The move aims to simplify sign-up and login procedures and reduce security risks tied to password-based authentication. New users will be able to log in using passkeys, PASS operated by South Korea’s three mobile carriers, or text verification. Some services will continue to require IDs and passwords.

Samsung launches Galaxy S26 FE at 1,045,000 won with flagship features
Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy S26 Fan Edition (FE), bringing key flagship features from the Galaxy S series while easing the price burden. The company said it will roll out the phone from Sept. 4 in South Korea, the United States, the UK and Thailand. The device offers enhanced photo and video functions, the latest Galaxy AI on One UI 9, a 4,900 mAh battery and a 120Hz 6.7-inch AMOLED display. In South Korea, the 256GB model starts at 1,045,000 won.

OpenAI expands ChatGPT security features, adds data leak prevention and login session management
OpenAI has added features to ChatGPT aimed at preventing data leaks and managing login sessions, SecurityWeek reported on Sunday. The Lockdown Mode feature is designed to block data leaks caused by prompt injection attacks and is available for personal and self-serve business accounts. When enabled, it restricts or disables functions such as live web browsing and file downloads. OpenAI said it is for users handling sensitive data and is not recommended for everyone.
