Mirae Asset Securities raises margin requirements for some Korean stocks to address rising volatility
Mirae Asset Securities raised margin requirements for some stocks in South Korea to respond to rising volatility and reduce investment risks from excessive leverage. It also cited rising margin debt. Margin rates of 20 percent and 30 percent will be raised to 40 percent.

U.S. CFTC approves bitcoin perpetual futures, raising prospects of derivatives market shifts
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has allowed bitcoin perpetual futures to enter regulated markets, raising expectations of changes in the structure of the U.S. crypto derivatives market. The CFTC approved the listing of KalshiEX’s BTCPERP contract. Perpetual futures are widely used offshore and have been difficult for U.S. investors to access. The approval could reshape product design, open access for institutions and intensify exchange competition, though liquidity may not move to the United States immediately.

Securities industry says stability comes first as T+1 settlement shift gains speed

They cited issues including foreign investor settlement and currency conversion, securities lending, ETF creation and redemption, and system overhauls. Participants also stressed automation and standardisation, warning that inadequate readiness could undermine settlement stability and market trust.
