BNK Financial pushes groupwide AI system adoption, picks Samsung SDS as preferred bidder

BNK Financial Group is seeking to build a groupwide generative AI platform shared by all affiliates to reduce duplicated investment and manage risks from applying AI to financial tasks. The group has selected Samsung SDS as the preferred bidder and is negotiating details. BNK plans to roll out generative AI functions in internal rules and accountability checks, lending and foreign exchange operations, internal search and groupware. It will also develop groupwide AI management standards and an AI governance portal.

DigitalX provides compliance training for all employees

DigitalX has moved to strengthen controls over “high-risk transactions” that involve manual employee work, such as airdrops, event rewards and mistaken transfers. The company said on Oct. 22 it held second-half 2026 compliance training for all employees, led by its risk management division. The programme covered processing procedures by transaction type, approval standards and reporting systems. It also reviewed internal controls to prevent mispayments and basic compliance rules.

Audit 2026: Lawmakers rap five big bank CEOs over hacking response, compensation and loan rates

Chief executives of South Korea\'s five biggest banks faced sharp questioning at a National Assembly audit over loan-rate calculations, personal data leaks and consumer protection. Lawmakers alleged banks offset cuts in add-on rates mandated by a legal revision by reducing preferential rates to raise interest income. KB Kookmin Bank and NH NongHyup Bank were pressed on rate adjustments. KB Kookmin also faced scrutiny over its initial response to a hacking incident, while lawmakers criticised unspent security budgets and compensation systems.
