Apple may initially release its next-generation Siri alongside iOS 27 as a beta version, with some features possibly opened via a waitlist, a report said. The revamp aims to turn Siri from a voice command tool into a more proactive AI assistant, described as an “AI companion.” Key changes may include broader app access and personalization. Apple is expected to preview iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 on June 8.

Apple will release iOS 26.5 next week, adding changes to Apple Maps, Messages, the App Store, Reminders and wallpapers. Apple Maps will show recommended places when users tap the search bar. Messages will add beta support for end-to-end encryption for RCS, though not all carriers will offer it immediately. The App Store will support a 12-month commitment paid monthly in most countries, excluding the United States and Singapore.
