Bitcoin bullish bets flash red as $85.9 million in long positions liquidated

Bitcoin is trading below $81,993, the average entry price for the largest cluster of net long positions, raising pressure on investors betting on gains. Data showed 64 percent of net long notional was entered above the spot price. In the past 24 hours, broader crypto liquidations totalled $481.25 million, including $346.15 million in long liquidations. Bitcoin liquidations were $95.06 million, with $85.9 million in longs.

Prediction market Kalshi eyes CME and ICE territory with inflation futures

Prediction market firm Kalshi is expanding into traditional financial exchange territory by launching futures products whose value moves with inflation, Bloomberg News reported on Oct. 23. Kalshi plans to introduce listed futures contracts in December that track the consumer price index and core CPI, an inflation gauge that excludes food and energy prices. Bloomberg said Kalshi is pitching the products to large banks and hedge funds.

Phantom launches Kalshi prediction market service in U.S., trades in stablecoin

Crypto wallet provider Phantom is offering U.S. users access to Kalshi’s prediction market service, The Block reported on Thursday. Users can trade contracts that bet on event outcomes directly in the Phantom app. The rollout begins on Thursday and will expand over several weeks. Users must complete Kalshi’s know-your-customer checks and fund trades with Phantom’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, Cash (CASH), which is converted to fiat for settlement.
