SBI, Yoshimoto plan joint venture to pair Japanese content with financial technology

Japan\'s financial group SBI Holdings is moving to target the global content market with major entertainment company Yoshimoto Kogyo Holdings. The companies agreed in principle on a strategic partnership and to set up a joint venture to plan and develop original intellectual property and invest in production. They also plan to use a 100 billion yen SBI Neo Content Fund and explore fundraising using digital securities and security tokens, though details were not disclosed.

Charles Hoskinson says ADA, XRP are digital commodities, calls for U.S. rethink of crypto classification

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said ADA and XRP should be classified as commodities rather than securities. He said problems with how digital assets are classified helped stall progress on the Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate, criticising efforts to group many assets as commodities and place the Commodity Futures Trading Commission at the centre of regulation. He said lawmakers should first clarify which assets are commodities and which are digital securities, and urged mutual recognition across jurisdictions.
