GS Caltex joins Naver Plus Membership, offering up to 5,000 points a month
Naver said on Thursday that GS Caltex has joined its paid Naver Plus Membership programme as a partner. Since April 23, members can earn 100 won in Naver Pay points per litre when refuelling at GS Caltex stations nationwide, with monthly earnings capped at 5,000 points as a basic benefit. The tie-up also introduces Naver Pay QR to Membership Pass, enabling integrated benefits and payments at partner outlets.

South Korea\'s convenience store market is entering a saturated phase, prompting the four major operators to strengthen private brand (PB) products. CU and GS25 are expanding PB as a growth engine for overseas stores, while Seven Eleven and Emart24 are using PB to improve efficiency and profitability. With store growth slowing for most players, PB shares last year were 29.5 percent for CU, 20 percent for GS25 and 29.5 percent for Seven Eleven.

Hana Bank partners with Bank of Korea, BGF Retail to test digital payments at CU convenience stores
Hana Bank signed a three-way agreement with the Bank of Korea and BGF Retail to push ahead with the second phase of \"Project Hangang,\" a tokenised-deposit pilot. The project will use Hana Bank-issued tokenised deposits for real payments at CU convenience stores. Users will pay via barcode or QR code through the Hana OneQ app, with biometric authentication and automatic top-ups. The project also aims to expand use to public finance execution.
