Dunamu is holding a quiz competition to help teenagers improve their understanding of digital finance.
Dunamu, which operates the Upbit digital asset exchange, said on May 25 it will run the Upclass Junior Quiz Competition to spread digital finance literacy among teenagers.
Upclass Junior is Dunamu’s programme for teenagers under Upclass, a tailored financial education programme by age group. It is run to improve teenagers’ understanding of digital finance and to support the development of future talent.
The curriculum reflects the latest technology trends, including not only basic economic knowledge but also artificial intelligence, blockchain and non-fungible tokens.
The quiz competition runs for about seven weeks from May 18 to July 3 for students from 62 schools that participated in Upclass Junior’s first semester.
After the event ends, the organiser will select top-performing schools by category by combining factors including the number of participants and average scores by school. Selected schools will receive a snack truck paid for by Upbit.
There are four award categories: the Passion Class Award, the Brain Class Award, the Our Neighborhood Class Award for the Seoul metropolitan area, and the Our Neighborhood Class Award for outside the Seoul metropolitan area. The organiser will pick the school with the most participants, the school with the highest average score, the metropolitan-area school with the highest participation rate, and the non-metropolitan school with the highest participation rate.
The four schools selected as top schools will also be offered an opportunity to make a 3 million won donation to the local community in the school’s name. Students will decide the donation recipient on-site when the snack truck is operated, and make the donation in the school’s name.
Individual participants will also receive benefits. A total of 500 participating students will be selected by lottery to receive convenience store coupons worth 5,000 won each.
Dunamu Chief Executive Kyung-seok Oh (오경석) said, "We plan to continuously expand participatory content so that teenagers can understand digital finance easily and in a familiar way." He added, "We will continue to actively work to nurture the next generation through Upclass."
