Flare targets XRP and bitcoin DeFi integration to attract institutional funds
Flare Networks is pushing to expand its DeFi connectivity from XRP to bitcoin, with CEO Hugo Philion saying it plans to extend its FAssets technology to bitcoin via a wrapped token, FBTC. Flare aims to turn major cryptocurrencies that are hard to use directly in DeFi into programmable assets. It has issued more than 150 million FXRP and targets attracting up to 5 billion XRP within six months. Flare says its FCC confidential computing could reduce full disclosure of transaction information for large participants.

Apple to launch next-generation Siri in September, use Google Cloud and Nvidia chips
Apple will launch a next-generation Siri voice AI assistant in September, aiming to offer a higher-level, more personalised conversation experience. The Information reported Apple will also use Google Cloud servers and Nvidia chips for the new Siri. Apple plans to handle as many functions as possible on devices such as iPhones, while running some functions requiring greater computing power on Google Cloud using Nvidia Blackwell B200 data centre chips.

Apple is preparing a new version of Siri that integrates AI across the iPhone operating system and may include a separate Siri app, according to reports. Leaked renderings ahead of WWDC show Siri expanding from a voice assistant into a default search and action interface tied to Dynamic Island and Spotlight. The redesign is expected to use a hybrid of on-device and cloud processing and to incorporate some Google Gemini technology, with some complex requests handled via Google Cloud.
