[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Global open-source solutions company Red Hat said on May 7 it will release Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10.2 and 9.8.
The latest version, based on RHEL 10, is focused on responding to the latest security threats, accelerating AI innovation and minimising operational variability.
RHEL 10.2 and 9.8 provide an operating system platform that integrates IT operations across hybrid clouds, with security as a core priority, the company said.
Red Hat emphasised that by strengthening confidential computing capabilities at the OS level, it provides a trusted environment for AI workloads and protects sensitive data being processed in memory and on CPUs.
It added that security features such as post-quantum cryptography and sealed image, a new technology preview implemented in image mode, can further strengthen the trust foundation for critical workloads.
Gunnar Hellekson (거너 헬렉슨), vice president and general manager for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, said, "RHEL 10.2 and 9.8 strike a balance between the pace of AI innovation and strict enterprise security, and turn complex operational disruptions into automated and repeatable processes." He said, "By integrating post-quantum cryptography and AI-based upgrade tools, Red Hat helps customers build defences against emerging threats, scale AI workloads consistently and reliably across hybrid clouds, and confidently pioneer the future of computing."
