Naphtha up 68 percent, ethylene up 61 percent as March producer prices post biggest rise in 4 years
South Korea’s producer prices rose at their fastest pace in nearly four years in March as international oil prices surged in the aftermath of the Iran war. The producer price index climbed 1.6 percent from February to 125.24, the biggest monthly rise since April 2022, and extended gains for a seventh straight month. Oil products and chemical items jumped, while farm and fisheries products fell and services were flat.

Broadcast Media Communications Commission releases 2024 TV broadcaster audience share
The Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Sunday it released the 2024 viewing share calculation results for 166 television broadcasters at its third plenary meeting of 2026. The calculation covered broadcasters operating 285 channels with annual viewing records. KBS posted the highest share among terrestrial broadcasters at 20.862 percent. TV Chosun led comprehensive programming and news channels at 7.441 percent. CJ ENM recorded 11.092 percent.

Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission begins formal talks on YTN issues, forms legal advisory group
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission held its second plenary meeting of 2026 on Thursday and began formal deliberations on key issues including a court ruling cancelling approval for a change in YTN\'s largest shareholder. The commission decided to form an external legal advisory group for an intensive review amid differing legal interpretations. It also discussed corrective orders over delays in forming CEO nomination committees at YTN and Yonhap News TV.
