Lee Jae-geun picked as KB Financial next chairman, signaling change and generational turnover

KB Financial Group picked Lee Jae-geun as the final candidate for its next chairman, bypassing incumbent Yang Jong-hee despite expectations of a second term after record results. The chairman candidate selection committee said it chose “change and generational turnover” over stability. Lee, who has held roles across banking and non-banking businesses, is set to be appointed chairman at an extraordinary shareholders meeting on Nov. 20.

Woori Financial opens Jeonju branch of free dental clinic, expands support to regions

Woori Financial Group is expanding its free dental clinic for vulnerable groups to Jeonju in North Jeolla province. The Woori Financial Future Foundation said it signed an agreement to operate the Jeonju branch at Pyeonghwa Social Welfare Center and opened its third center. The clinic will be run with North Jeolla province, Jeonbuk National University and Korea Land and Housing Corp (LH).

Woori Bank\'s WooriWON Mobile Chuseok event offers up to six months of mobile bill benefits

Woori Bank\'s telecommunications service WooriWON Mobile is offering mobile bill support, points and other benefits in September for customers who subscribe to certain plans. The bank said it will run a Chuseok-themed event, providing 30,000 won in Naver Pay and monthly membership coupons worth 5,000 won to customers who open service during the month. Customers subscribing to 15 plans will receive points for six months, and referrals will also earn points.
