NHN Dooray said on Wednesday it won the chairperson’s prize from the Personal Information Protection Commission at the 2026 Personal Information Protection and Utilisation Technology Awards.

Hosted by the Personal Information Protection Commission and organised by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Korea Association of Chief Privacy Officers, the awards were newly created this year to spread personal information protection technologies. This year, 3 companies, including NHN Dooray, received the commission chairperson’s prize.

NHN Dooray was recognised for applying a three-layer protection architecture to its collaboration tool Dooray, consisting of infrastructure, data export controls and usage controls.

Dooray obtained KISA’s Cloud Service Security Certification (CSAP) standard grade and passed the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) safety assessment of the Financial Security Institute.

It is currently supplied to about 150 public institutions and was introduced to the defence ministry under the name "Gukbang Ieum". NHN Dooray plans to expand the service to about 300,000 people across the entire military within this year.

In the financial sector, it supplies the service to internal networks at about 30 financial institutions, including all 17 affiliates of Woori Financial Group. Dooray was designated an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission together with Woori Financial Group and began service in April last year.

Dooray’s AI features link external large language models such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude via APIs. The company explained it does not use customer data for model training or store it, and blocks the inflow of sensitive information at the AI input stage using a data loss prevention (DLP) function.

Baek Chang-yeol (백창열), CEO of NHN Dooray, said, "We will continue to strengthen our security capabilities and build a collaborative environment where companies can use AI-based work tools."
