Igloo Corporation wins U.S. classification society security certification after France, Korea
Igloo Corporation said it has obtained an additional certification from the American Bureau of Shipping for the Unified Requirement on cyber resilience of onboard systems and equipment (UR E27), after securing approvals from Bureau Veritas and the Korean Register. The company said its penetration-testing support capabilities were also verified through a joint development project to comply with UR E26, including tests conducted on an HLS vessel under Bureau Veritas supervision.

Daishin Financial Group joins Seoul National University future library transition
Daishin Securities said the opening ceremony for the Daishin Financial Group–Seoul National University Heritage Lounge, created through a remodel of the university’s central library building, was completed on Feb. 9. The remodel adds museum and archive functions to expand the library into a future-oriented complex knowledge space. The project was pursued as part of Daishin Financial Group’s social contribution activities, supported by a development fund delivered in 2024 by the Daishin Songchon Cultural Foundation.

Hackers recruit backup specialists, time for backup-centred security strategy
Companies specialising in backup solutions are calling for a shift toward backup-centred ransomware defence as attacks evolve. Cohesity, which acquired Veritas, is expanding cyber resilience offerings and says multi-layered backups, including offline and immutable storage, are now essential. The company released survey findings from IT and security leaders, including about 200 South Korean firms, showing cyberattacks affecting forecasts, share prices, budgets and legal exposure, and highlighting management pressure on IT staff in South Korea.
