Daishin Securities said on Monday that the opening ceremony for the "Daishin Financial Group–Seoul National University Heritage Lounge," created through a remodel of Seoul National University Central Library’s Gwanjeong Building, was completed on Feb. 9.

The remodel is a new attempt to expand the library into a future-oriented complex knowledge space by adding museum and archive functions.

The heritage lounge, created with Daishin Financial Group’s participation, was built in a key space connecting Seoul National University Central Library’s main building and the Gwanjeong Building. It includes the "Path of Truth," an architectural embodiment of the university’s symbolic phrase "VERITAS LUX MEA (Truth is my light)," as well as "Gwanak Table" and "Gwanak Room" for communication and exchange.

The opening of the heritage lounge is a project pursued as an extension of Daishin Financial Group’s social contribution activities, supported by a development fund that the Daishin Songchon Cultural Foundation delivered to Seoul National University in 2024.

Daishin Financial Group Chairman Lee Eo-ryong (이어룡) said it was meaningful to be able to take part in the process of Seoul National University Central Library being reborn as an open space where knowledge and culture come together. He said he hoped it would be used as a venue for thought and reflection for future generations.
