Ryu Je-myeong discusses AI, digital cooperation with UAE ambassador to South Korea

Ryu Je-myeong (류제명), second vice minister at South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, discussed ways to expand cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in AI and other digital fields. Ryu met UAE Ambassador to South Korea Jamal Abdulla Alsuwaidi to exchange views on key issues and the direction of bilateral cooperation. The talks reviewed existing AI and ICT projects and agreed to seek new opportunities and broaden exchanges involving institutions and companies.

DMCC tokenises 1,971-kg world\'s largest silver bar in Dubai

Dubai’s Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has begun issuing digital fractional stakes backed by a 1,971-kg silver bar listed as the world’s largest, CoinPost reported. The product is launched under Dubai crypto regulator VARA’s framework, with Tokinvest handling issuance. The token is issued as an asset-referenced virtual asset (ARVA) on BNB Chain. The physical bar is registered and verified on DMCC Tradeflow, while Brink’s handles storage and logistics.

Digital asset alliances emerge as banks, brokerages and asset managers race to team up

South Korea\'s financial sector is moving competitively to form digital asset alliances, as brokerages expand exchange investment and token securities while banks and asset managers accelerate partnerships. Shinhan Financial Group signed an agreement with Visa to verify stablecoin platform functions and design models for the domestic market. Woori Bank and Coupang completed a proof of concept for real-time settlement. K Bank, Toss and Jeonbuk Bank also announced tie-ups, while some banks invest directly in custody firms as lawmakers debate digital asset legislation.
