Binance warns against smishing texts impersonating security alerts, urges caution on short links

Binance warned users that text-message phishing, known as smishing, is increasing through messages impersonating the exchange’s security alerts. The attacker typically tries to create anxiety by claiming account settings changed or a suspicious login was detected, then pushes a shortened URL to prompt quick clicks. Binance said it does not ask users to verify or protect accounts via SMS links and urged checks through its official app or website.
