Why a Korea-focused blockchain Maroo is drawing attention as Tiger Research releases analysis report

Tiger Research, a Web3-focused research firm, released an analysis report on Maroo, a layer-1 blockchain being developed by Hashed Open Finance under Hashed to target stablecoins. The report says Maroo embeds transaction rules at the chain level through a Legal Oracle committee and a programmable compliance layer, enabling network-wide updates when regulations change. It also highlights use of the won stablecoin OKRW as the base unit and a design allowing asset freezes and recovery in emergencies.

Korea crypto trading value slumps 89% as KOSPI jumps 114%, retail money shifts to stocks

Trading value at South Korea’s five major won-based cryptocurrency exchanges fell by as much as 89% over the past year, an analysis showed. Over the same period, the KOSPI rose 114.44% on Yahoo Finance data, reinforcing signs that retail investment money moved from crypto into stocks. Falling fee income has led some exchanges to sell crypto holdings. Research also points to investor fatigue and a shift toward institution-led market participation.
