KakaoBank conversational AI users top 5 million after one year

KakaoBank said on Tuesday users of its conversational AI service surpassed 5 million a year after its launch. The service reached 1 million users within 3 months, 2 million within 6 months and 3 million within 8 months, before exceeding 5 million recently. KakaoBank upgraded its AI system and added investment and card-benefit search features. The company plans to expand AI use across staff work and customer services and strengthen personalized conversations later this year.

Hacker disables ChatGPT guardrails as affective-structure exploit technique emerges

Dutch security researcher Kevin Zwaan (케빈 즈완) succeeded in disabling ChatGPT guardrails and getting it to generate malware. A report said he worked with Q-Cyber and the Hackers Love community team to manipulate the model’s affective structure so it would not recognise guardrails. He said the method does not delete or bypass guardrails but induces the model to make their constraints meaningless. He named the technique AMAI.

ChatGPT may start forgetting early context after extended conversations, and very long chats can eventually end, a report said. Users need to consider both the context window, which is based on tokens rather than time or message count, and a maximum thread length. When the thread-length limit is reached, ChatGPT displays a notice saying the conversation has hit its maximum length and prompts users to start a new chat.
