POSCO Future M secures mass production technology for silicon anode materials
POSCO Future M said on May 20 it has secured mass production technology for silicon anode materials and is pursuing commercial supply in 2028. The company said its silicon anode material can store more than four times the energy of graphite-based anodes and that it has addressed the key commercialisation challenge of volume expansion during charging and discharging with its own technology. It also said performance was confirmed under higher mixing ratios and long cycle use.

SK Hynix sets goal of 100 trillion won in net cash, pursues U.S. listing in second half
SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung (곽노정) set a mid- to long-term financial goal of securing more than 100 trillion won in net cash, up from about 12.7 trillion won at end-2025. He reaffirmed plans to pursue shareholder returns, saying it executed about 14 trillion won in payouts including extra dividends and share cancellation. He also disclosed plans to list American depositary receipts in the second half of this year.

POSCO Future M to develop methane gas-based natural graphite anode material
POSCO Future M said on March 19 it will secure raw materials for natural graphite anode materials without relying on mining. It signed a memorandum of understanding with U.S.-based Molten to jointly develop methane gas-based natural graphite anode material feedstock. Under the plan, Molten will produce graphite through methane pyrolysis, and POSCO Future M will process it into spherical graphite via its subsidiary Futuregraph before final production at its Sejong plant.
