U.S. allows private firms to join offensive cyber operations for first time
The U.S. government has for the first time allowed some private companies to take part in offensive cyber operations targeting international criminal groups and hackers. The White House said it will use private-sector capabilities to counter cyber threats aimed at Americans, including ransomware and financial fraud.
