Amazon first discloses data centre water use at 9.4 billion litres a year

Amazon for the first time disclosed the amount of water it used to run data centres worldwide, saying it consumed about 2.5 billion gallons, or roughly 9.5 billion litres, last year. The company said its data centres used an average of 0.12 litres of water per kilowatt hour of electricity, and that total water use fell 2 percent from a year earlier. Critics note the figure excludes indirect water use at power plants and during construction.

Claims celebrities were used to promote XRP in South Korea spark dispute over investor losses

A cryptocurrency trader and market commentator has drawn controversy by alleging that promotional activity helped drive South Korean investors’ losses in XRP after its price fell sharply from its peak. Ryker said South Korean celebrities were paid by an “XRP team” to promote the token when it traded at $2 to $3, citing heavy XRP volume on Upbit. No supporting evidence has been made public, and Decrypt reported the claims could not be verified.

XRP only crypto besides bitcoin to stay in top 10 by market value for 10 years

XRP has been identified as the only cryptocurrency, excluding bitcoin, that has never left the top 10 by market capitalisation since 2014. CoinGecko said XRP has remained among the leading digital assets from 2014 to the present. The record comes despite bear markets, probes, delistings in some regions and a legal dispute between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. XRP was ranked sixth at about $72.76 billion in market value and around $1.11.
