K-game makers extend console titles\' life with DLC

South Korean game companies are expanding downloadable content for PC and console package games as they move beyond mobile and online titles, seeking to sustain revenue after release. Unlike mobile and online games, where updates can generate ongoing sales, package games typically see sales concentrated early and then slow. Firms are using DLC to create additional sales, revive interest and extend the life of intellectual property, with recent examples from Pearl Abyss, Neowiz, Mintrocket and Shift Up.
