Wemade Max said on Jan. 26 it has released a new cinematic trailer teasing Steam early access for PvPvE extraction title 'Midnight Walkers', which is under development by Onewayticket Studio.
The trailer is a cinematic video released ahead of 'Midnight Walkers' Steam early access on Jan. 29. It focuses on conveying the game’s setting and direction more intuitively, centring on its universe and the background to the outbreak of fighting.
The video opens with narration by a figure who manages the 'Liberty Grand Center', the game’s battlefield. It lays out, in narrative form, why players enter the battlefield and how the repeated fight-and-escape structure in Midnight Walkers took shape.
It then moves to in-game combat and escape scenes featuring the Midnight Walkers and also reveals key update elements newly added to the early-access version, including a zombie container, barricades and fire extinguisher objects. In the latter part of the video, it shows the appearance of a special large zombie not seen before and a standoff with players in cinematic direction, highlighting the game’s tension and combat flow. The zombie is scheduled to be updated during the early-access period.
Song Kwang-ho (송광호), head of Onewayticket Studio, said the cinematic trailer was made to help users more easily understand the world and combat context of Midnight Walkers ahead of early access. He said the company will continue to improve the game’s completeness so the emotional arc and tension in the video can carry over naturally into actual play.
Midnight Walkers will be released simultaneously to global markets via the Steam platform at 11 a.m. on Jan. 29 (Korea time). The developer plans to continue development with the aim of a full release within this year, after gathering a wide range of player feedback through its Discord community and continuing to refine the game.
