Cisco to buy AI observability firm Galileo, expand AI agent security

Cisco will acquire AI observability startup Galileo Technologies, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday. The purchase price was not disclosed and the deal is expected to close within the fourth quarter. Galileo develops tools to observe and evaluate AI models, including a platform that monitors multi-agent systems in real time and applies guardrails to ensure accuracy. Galileo’s solutions are set to be integrated into Cisco’s Splunk observability platform.

AI-driven probabilistic computing era to trigger big bang in internet infrastructure

Vijoy Pandey (비조이 판데이), a senior vice president leading Cisco\'s innovation incubator Outshift, said computing is shifting from deterministic systems to probabilistic ones as AI and quantum computing rise. He said the transition will require sweeping changes across networking and security, and Cisco will lead them through an “Internet of Cognition”. Pandey outlined changes needed in discovery, identity, protocols and observability, and described Cisco’s roadmap spanning AI agent management, quantum security and quantum networking.

Databricks enters security market with Lakewatch, targets SIEM

Databricks is accelerating its push into the security market with the launch of its AI-based cybersecurity solution Lakewatch. Adobe and National Australia Bank have already adopted the product, and Anthropic is also using Databricks for security purposes, CNBC reported. Lakewatch is designed to integrate application data such as Slack and Workday and uses generative AI to prioritize alerts. Databricks priced it by software workload rather than stored data.
