Shinhan Financial invites Winter Olympics ski, snowboard medalists to honor achievements

Shinhan Financial Group said on Monday it invited South Korea’s ski and snowboard medalists from the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics to its Shinhan Card headquarters in central Seoul for a celebration and encouragement event. Attendees included gold medallist Choi Ga-on in women’s snowboard halfpipe, silver medallist Kim Sang-gyeom in men’s parallel giant slalom, and bronze medallist Yoo Seung-eun in women’s snowboard big air. The group delivered prize money and extended support for the Korea Ski and Snowboard Association through 2030.

Shinhan Financial wins six top spots in 2026 K-BPI brand power survey

Shinhan Financial Group said on Wednesday it topped six categories in the 2026 Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI) survey. Shinhan Financial Holdings ranked first in the financial holding company category for the 15th straight year. Shinhan Bank led the banking category for the 11th consecutive year, while its Shinhan Premier was No. 1 in private banking for the ninth year. Shinhan Card topped the credit card category for the 15th year and led other categories.

Shinhan Bank joins Project Hangang phase 2

Shinhan Bank said on Tuesday it will join the second phase of the Bank of Korea’s digital currency pilot, Project Hangang, to expand the use of deposit token-based payment services across everyday life. The phase aims to test the commercial viability of a digital currency payment infrastructure by enabling customers to use deposit tokens in real settings and by enhancing functions such as person-to-person transfers, interest payments and automatic conversion.
