Whatnot valuation rises to $20 billion on live shopping growth
Live shopping platform Whatnot raised $545 million in a Series G round, winning a valuation of $20 billion. CNBC reported on Aug. 7 that its valuation nearly doubled in less than a year. Iconiq, Lightspeed and Avra led the round. The company said more than 650,000 new users join weekly and it has already surpassed last year’s $8 billion gross merchandise volume. Buyer numbers more than doubled over the past year.

Anduril in talks to raise new funding at $100 billion valuation
U.S. defense technology company Anduril is seeking to raise new funding at a $100 billion valuation, TechCrunch reported on July 24. If completed, the deal would lift the company\'s valuation by about $40 billion from $61 billion in May. Anduril raised $5 billion in May, about double its $30.5 billion valuation in its June 2025 Series G round. The funding could proceed in two phases and close this year.

Helion raises $465 million, accelerates goal to supply fusion power to Microsoft by 2028
U.S. fusion startup Helion Energy raised $465 million in new funding, valuing the company at $15.5 billion. Helion said it will use the money to accelerate construction of its first commercial power plant, the Orion project planned in Washington state, and aims to supply fusion electricity to the grid as early as 2028. The company has a power supply contract with Microsoft for its data centres and says it plans to deliver by 2028.
