Cyera, a cybersecurity startup, has raised an additional $400 million in investment from Goldman Sachs at a valuation of more than $12 billion.
SiliconANGLE reported on Sept. 22 that the investment was made as an extension of the Series G round that closed in June.
Cyera provides a cloud platform that identifies where sensitive corporate data is stored. Cyera's software also checks what information the data contains, who can access it and whether it is stored securely.
Since the initial Series G investment in June, Cyera has expanded its business into AI agent security. The Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint products introduced at the time focused on protecting corporate records from AI-related cybersecurity risks.
Agent Guardian inventories agents that interact with corporate data and checks for vulnerabilities. It also finds agents that access more data than is needed to perform their tasks. It identifies security issues in agent tools and MCP servers. Companies can use the product to set policies on allowed agent behavior and automatically detect AI tools that do not meet standards. It can block behavior that poses security risks and isolate the agent if the problem is not limited to a single action.
Cyera Endpoint monitors AI agents that run on employees' devices. It targets endpoint environments that are difficult for existing corporate security tools to reach. It prevents users from uploading company data to agents not used for work and blocks attempts to move records off employees' devices without authorization.
In early September, Cyera strengthened its agent security capabilities by acquiring Oasis Security for $1 billion. Oasis Security provides a non-human identity security platform. It identifies non-human identities within corporate networks, determines which agents use them and finds security risks such as excessive access privileges.
Cyera plans to use the funds to expand its AI security features. It also aims to speed up efforts to target the federal government segment and overseas markets.
