Naver unveils core technology behind AI Tab

Naver has unveiled key technologies used in its conversational AI search service AI Tab, which it launched on June 25. At a tech session in Seoul, it introduced a specialised lightweight model based on HyperCLOVA X, an operating framework called harness engineering, and Smart Lens-based multimodal technology. Executives said AI Tab must deliver conversational answers every time a user selects the tab, requiring high quality, speed, cost efficiency and stability at scale.

Meritz urges MBK to play responsible role after Homeplus rehabilitation terminated

Meritz Financial Group said it regretted a court decision to terminate Homeplus\' rehabilitation procedure and urged majority shareholder MBK Partners to play a responsible role. Meritz said it had done as much as possible as a creditor within legal limits, including cooperation on a stay on collateral execution and a 100 billion won DIP financing escrow. It also said Chairman Kim Byung-ju has not guaranteed the DIP funding.

Park In-gyu visits KIST to discuss research data management measures

Park In-gyu (박인규), head of the Science and Technology Innovation Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited the Korea Institute of Science and Technology in Seoul on Thursday to inspect research data collection and management and to meet researchers. The visit followed the promulgation on June 9 of a law to promote national research data management and use. Park reviewed a platform that automatically collects equipment data and supports online reuse and analysis.
