Kakao launches local commerce co-prosperity project \'Gotgot\', debuts in Gongju

Kakao is launching a new co-prosperity initiative called \'Gotgot\' aimed at encouraging visits to local commercial districts and expanding connections between small businesses and users. The first location is Gongju, where Kakao will combine a local shop magazine with offline experiential programs. It will publish \'Magazine Gotgot Gongju\' and hold \'Gotgot Walk\' events from Oct. 16 around the Jemincheon area, featuring talks, tours and a stamp-style bingo program.

Korea science ministry to hold AI Festa as 350 AI firms gather

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will hold \"AI Week 2026-AI Festa\" at COEX in Seoul from Oct. 6 to 8, bringing together about 350 AI companies and institutions. The event will run about 500 exhibition booths and host exhibitions and conferences on AI technologies used in industry and daily life. It will feature foundation models, AI semiconductors, physical AI and defence AI, along with policy talks, diplomatic sessions and forums on quantum and cybersecurity.

Hana Bank to provide 68.75 billion won in guaranteed loans to Seoul alley businesses with Naver Pay, Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation

Hana Bank will supply a total of 68.75 billion won in guaranteed loans to small merchants and small and medium-sized firms in Seoul, working with Naver Pay, Naver and the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation. Under the agreement, Hana Bank will contribute 5.0 billion won and Naver and Naver Pay 500 million won to the foundation, which will provide credit guarantees. Hana Bank will extend loans based on the guarantees.
