SKT launches AI for Everyone consortium to link AI services across eight sectors

SK Telecom will step up development of “AI for Everyone” by working with specialist companies and institutions across eight sectors including finance, education, healthcare, small businesses and mobility. The company said it held the consortium’s launch event on Sept. 9 at its T Tower in central Seoul. The project aims to build an end-to-end execution agent that analyses user requests and situations, connects suitable AI models and specialist services, and carries out follow-up work.

SKT CEO Jung Jae-heon (정재헌) meets GSMA chief to seek AI growth strategy

SK Telecom CEO Jung Jae-heon met global telecom industry executives to discuss growth strategies for the AI era and ways to build digital trust. SKT said he attended the GSMA M360 ASEAN event in Kuala Lumpur on Sept. 9. Jung met GSMA Director General Vivek Badrinath to discuss next-generation growth opportunities and AI transformation strategies for telecom infrastructure. He also held talks on cooperation, security and digital crime prevention.

SKT extends \'T Roaming\' data promotion until Dec. 31

SK Telecom is extending its overseas roaming data promotion through Dec. 31, citing expanded demand including a rise in subscribers choosing higher-capacity roaming plans and family roaming users topping 5.05 million. The company has offered up to 16 GB of extra data to customers on its baro roaming plans since April 23, with continued use available at up to 1 Mbps after data is exhausted. Additional perks include extra data for customers aged 34 or younger and discounts on certain plans.
