Nvidia revises DLSS 5 after criticism over distorted faces
Nvidia reintroduced how DLSS 5 is applied and highlighted new developer controls as it seeks to ease controversy over degraded game graphics. The company detailed the technology at SIGGRAPH 2026 in Los Angeles, presenting three AI model options, per-scene mixing, sliders for structure and tone, and a new masking feature to exclude specific assets such as faces. Some online users remained critical. Nvidia plans to release DLSS 5 this fall.
