Moves by companies across sectors toward AI-based security are accelerating, with South Korean firms stepping up “security plus AI” strategies. XGate, which specialises in network security such as VPNs and firewalls, is also strengthening AI. Executive director Kim Han-yong (김한용) said the company is focusing on reinforcing areas it already does well rather than targeting entirely new domains. He outlined efforts to use AI for log analysis, easier policy creation and improved firewall hardware efficiency, while also aligning products with zero trust security needs.

AhnLab on Wednesday launched AhnLab TIP API, a standalone product that provides threat intelligence from its next-generation AhnLab TIP platform through application programming interfaces. The company said demand is rising for linking threat intelligence with various security solutions, prompting it to offer the API function separately from its portal service. The API provides data such as malicious IPs, URLs, domains and files via RESTful API and supports integration with AhnLab and third-party security tools.
