[National Audit 2026] Tving faces criticism over plain-text access key storage, hardcoding flaws; CEO Choi admits security lapses

Tving, which suffered a large-scale personal data leak, was criticised in parliament for weak basic security management, including storing developer access keys in plain text in source code. Lawmakers also said fundamental fixes were not made despite earlier penetration tests flagging hardcoding vulnerabilities. CEO Choi Ju-hee apologised and said the company had been lax on security. Lawmakers also questioned delayed detection, reporting and document submissions after the incident.

Private AI expands from zero-trust security to AI governance

Private AI, formerly Private Technology, has repositioned itself from a zero-trust security company to an AI governance and control provider. Executive director Beom-su Joo (주범수) said the firm expanded because its core technology aligns with AI governance and is already implemented in products, with a goal of lifting AI revenue to more than half next year. The company is targeting finance and public institutions and sees N2SF as an opportunity in the public sector.

SKT holds \'RE:FINE Day\' to put unused IT devices back into use

SK Telecom is launching an e-waste resource-circulation campaign ahead of Resource Circulation Day, involving employees and the next generation. The company said it held RE:FINE Day on Sept. 3 with staff, their families and children at its in-house daycare. Participants brought unused devices for collection, data deletion and reuse or recycling. SKT will provide remanufactured digital devices to vulnerable children through a national childcare center association.
