Tesla Q2 revenue rises but profitability worsens; Cybercab, Semi timelines slip
Tesla removed its 2026 mass-production plans for the Cybercab, Tesla Semi and Megapack 3, and also deleted wording on Optimus mass production, TechCrunch reported, citing a second-quarter shareholder letter. Tesla said it is working to increase battery production, especially 4680 cells, to mass-produce the Cybercab and Semi, but did not explain delays for Megapack 3 or whether Optimus is delayed. Second-quarter revenue rose to $28.2 billion, while net profit fell to $1.1 billion and free cash flow turned negative.

ECB selects 36 companies to test digital euro ahead of 2027 pilot
The European Central Bank has selected 36 payment service providers to take part in tests of the digital euro ahead of a pilot programme due to start in the second half of 2027. The ECB plans to move the project from the design stage to a testing stage and run a 12-month beta test. The list includes fintech firms such as Stripe and Revolut and banks including Deutsche Bank and UniCredit.

ESMA adds 14 CASPs to MiCA register, slowing pace of licence growth
The European Securities and Markets Authority added 14 crypto asset service providers to the MiCA register, bringing the total number of registered firms to 294. Cointelegraph reported the update was the second to the register since the end of MiCA’s transition period. The previous update on July 3 added 37 CASPs. Cointelegraph said the pace of licence expansion appears to be slowing after an initial surge.
