FuriosaAI said on Thursday it has established a local unit in Singapore and will operate it as a base responsible for business development, sales and technical support in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Singapore unit is an expansion in response to the growing global commercial rollout of infrastructure based on the second-generation AI inference accelerator Renegade. FuriosaAI plans to broaden cooperation with regional companies and governments, cloud providers and infrastructure partners, including in Southeast Asia, to accelerate the adoption of large-scale AI inference infrastructure.

The Singapore unit brings FuriosaAI's overseas bases to 4 outside its Seoul headquarters. The company already had bases in Silicon Valley in the United States and Lisbon in Portugal, and it has now secured its first base in Asia-Pacific. The new base will be led by Senior Vice President Addison Chi (애디슨 치), who oversees APAC sales. FuriosaAI also plans to expand local staffing and technical support capabilities to provide support from initial technical validation through commercial deployment.

Renegade is a data centre AI accelerator designed for inference with performance and efficiency for a range of tasks, including large language models, multimodal models and agentic AI, and entered mass production in January. A server equipped with 8 cards runs on about 3 kW of power, making it suitable for air-cooled deployment. Unlike high-power GPU systems that require separate liquid-cooling infrastructure, inference processing capacity can be expanded using only the power and infrastructure of existing data centres. Samsung SDS and LG AI Research have already adopted Renegade in commercial services, and FuriosaAI is expanding customer and partner cooperation not only in Asia but also in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

FuriosaAI CEO Junho Baek (백준호) said, "Asia-Pacific is rapidly growing into a key region in the global AI infrastructure market as companies adopt advanced AI amid constraints on data centre power and infrastructure," and added, "Through our Singapore base, we will work more closely with customers and partners in the region and support a smooth path from technical validation of Renegade to actual commercial deployment."
