Microsoft open-sources 15 billion-parameter multimodal AI model
Microsoft has released its 15 billion-parameter multimodal AI model, Phi-4-reasoning-vision-15B, as open source, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday. The model combines SigLIP-2 and Phi-4 Reasoning and is optimised for multimodal data such as science and mathematics graphs. Microsoft applies a mid-fusion method to reduce hardware burden and allows reasoning to be toggled via prompts. It trained the model largely on open-source data and published it on Hugging Face, GitHub and Azure.
