U.S. billionaire investor Mark Cuban proposed a federal-level “AI token tax” on AI service operators. Cuban said the tax should apply only to commercial providers and exclude open-source models and local inference on personal devices. Supporters cite efficiency and revenue gains, while critics warn it would hurt U.S. firms and expand government tracking.
