Makinarocks to apply AI control technology at Samsung Display Vietnam plant

Physical AI company Makinarocks said on Tuesday it will work with Samsung Display to apply AI-based equipment control optimisation technology at the company’s Vietnam plant. The cooperation aims to deploy the solution on the plant’s mass-production lines by year-end, based on results from a proof of concept conducted in the first half of this year. Makinarocks uses a large language model to analyse PLC code and automatically identify leftover, duplicate and unused commands.

Netmarble to tighten new game criteria, revise multi-title strategy

Netmarble is shifting away from releasing new games in rapid succession and will focus on extending the lifespan and revenue of existing titles. It cut its second-half new-game lineup to three and plans to apply stricter launch standards while strengthening live-service operations. The company cited sustained growth in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. Netmarble reported second-quarter revenue of 749.2 billion won and operating profit of 80.1 billion won, while costs rose on marketing and fees.

Existing IPs, not new releases, to divide Korean game makers\' Q2 results

South Korean game makers\' second-quarter results are expected to diverge based on profits generated by existing intellectual property rather than whether they released new titles. Krafton and NC, which own PUBG and Lineage, are forecast to post sharp gains helped by new titles and acquisitions. Netmarble is expected to see weaker profitability due to marketing and IP fees, while Nexon expects a pause as some key titles soften despite stable live services.
