Goldman Sachs CIO says Chinese models can be used with safeguards

Goldman Sachs Chief Information Officer Marco Argenti said companies have no reason to exclude open-weight AI models if they put safeguards in place, Axios reported on Tuesday. Argenti said firms, including banks, can use models from any company if safety measures are installed, and he does not think access should be blocked outright, including to Chinese models. Goldman mainly uses U.S.-made open models and is testing several in operations.

Inside the $400,000 helmet used by F-35 pilots

An advanced helmet used by F-35 fighter pilots is drawing attention for functions that go beyond protection. The third-generation Helmet Mounted Display System links the aircraft’s sensors to the visor to display flight and combat information and provide an augmented-reality view that can appear to see through the airframe. A 2015 U.S. Air Force estimate put the price at about $400,000 each. Development faced early technical and safety issues before improvements.

LG Hellovision staff trio reshape the company\'s social media

Three LG Hellovision employees are appearing in the company’s official social media content, creating short-form videos built on memes and workplace themes. The trio said no one ordered them to go on camera, but they began appearing after finding limits with outside performers. Their content helped boost Instagram followers from 856 in January last year to 10,746 as of August and shifted engagement toward younger users. The company also receives customer inquiries through direct messages.
