Oura to enter South Korea with fifth-generation smart ring

Finnish smart ring maker Oura has officially entered the South Korean market with the Oura Ring 5, which it says is 40 percent smaller than its previous model. The company says it boosted LED output fourfold and expanded signal paths to maintain measurement quality, and offers more than 50 health metrics through its app. Oura plans to combine hardware sales with a monthly membership fee, with new features provided to subscribers.

Apple weighs major overhaul of Apple Watch lineup, from round screens to screenless devices

Apple is considering a major redesign of its Apple Watch lineup, reviewing options ranging from a watch with a round display to a screenless fitness accessory, NineToFiveMac reported. The review comes as competition intensifies from screenless smart fitness devices such as the Oura Ring. Apple is also weighing software changes, including strengthening its Health app around AI, and adjusting pricing strategy across lower-cost and premium models. Any radical changes may take years to reach market.

Casio to launch ring-shaped digital watch with health tracking first in China

Casio will first introduce in China a new ring-shaped wearable that combines a digital watch with health management features. The CRW-H001M-8 keeps a miniaturised classic Casio digital watch look with a small display, stopwatch and calendar. It adds smart ring-level tracking including heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep status and body temperature, plus steps and calories. Battery life is about 4 to 6 days and the price is about $294 including local taxes.
