[Digital Today reporter Chigyu Hwang] OpenAI is moving to strengthen healthcare features as a core strategy to develop ChatGPT into a “personal super assistant,” The Information reported on Jan. 7 local time, citing multiple sources.

OpenAI plans to introduce a health hub feature in ChatGPT that links with wearable devices such as the Oura Ring, Apple Watch and Whoop. It would analyse health data including sleep, heart rate and blood glucose, then suggest tailored exercise or lifestyle improvements based on the data.

The Information said the feature is likely to be offered as a “Health” tab in ChatGPT, following the “Image” and “App” tabs. OpenAI partially disclosed the feature on its official blog shortly after the plan became known publicly.

The Information said OpenAI went through post-review by doctors to improve the accuracy of ChatGPT’s health-related responses. It also uses medical documents that users voluntarily upload to further refine the model.
