91 percent of areas with poor telecom quality improved; 8 subway sections still fall short
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency said 79 of 87 areas and facilities found to have poor telecom service in a 2025 quality assessment have improved after a recheck. The improvement rate was 91 percent. All 30 indoor sites improved. In subways, 5G improved in 12 of 13 sections, while LTE improved in 37 of 44 sections, leaving 8 subway sections still below standards.

Postman saves elderly man after finding him unconscious on road in Chungbuk
A South Korean postman saved an elderly resident who had collapsed and lost consciousness on a rural farm road in Osong-eup, North Chungcheong province, the postal service said. Kim Ui-seop found the man in his 80s while delivering mail on May 7 and helped him regain consciousness. Kim then informed the man’s family at his request and handed him over to relatives who arrived at the scene.

National AI strategy committee launches Chungcheong AX, checks K-Moonshot progress
South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee inspected progress on the K-Moonshot implementation strategy and bio AX, key tasks under the \"Republic of Korea AI Action Plan,\" in the Chungcheong region. Standing Vice Chairman Moon-young Lim (임문영) visited AI research infrastructure in Daejeon and the bio and medical AI industry in Osong. He also delivered a keynote at a forum at Chungnam National University and reviewed supercomputer and AI resource initiatives at KISTI.
