Microsoft Edge to phase out support for older ad-blocking extensions like Chrome

Microsoft is starting the process of ending support for Manifest V2 extensions in its Edge browser. As a result, older ad-blocking extensions such as uBlock Origin will be gradually disabled by default. The Verge reported on Aug. 7 that Microsoft will sequentially end support for remaining MV2 extensions starting this month. Microsoft said only 58 MV2 extensions have meaningful use in the Edge add-ons store, and just three are not available on MV3.

OpenAI to end \'ChatGPT Atlas\' web browser on Aug. 9, changes Mac users need to know

OpenAI will end service for its Mac-only web browser \'ChatGPT Atlas\' on Aug. 9, the IT outlet 9to5Mac reported. OpenAI warned Atlas may no longer open or support web browsing and agent-style workflows after the shutdown. Bookmarks will not migrate automatically, and users are advised to export them to an HTML file and save key pages before the deadline. Chat history will remain accessible. Security updates will also stop.

CJ MezzoMedia upgrades AI ad platform ADLY, revamps it as SaaS

CJ MezzoMedia said on Wednesday it has revamped its AI-based integrated advertising operations platform, ADLY, into a software-as-a-service platform upgraded with AI technology and predictive models. It said the update strengthens Reach Caster, a solution for exploration and forecasting at the advertising strategy stage, and expands reach forecasting from digital to TV. The company also said it standardised its AI into the SpinX engine, applying it across key solutions to improve performance and security.
