SpaceX replaces AI data centre head amid staff exits and outages, pushing to stabilise operations
SpaceX has put Starlink executive Michael Nichols in charge of AI data centre operations, as key staff continue to leave and some facility outages have disrupted AI model training. The company has promoted fast buildouts and lower costs, but reliance on temporary equipment and below-target uptime has drawn scrutiny. SpaceX is shifting staff internally and hiring to fill gaps while pursuing capacity goals and supporting major compute customers such as Google and Anthropic.

Ex-Elon ETFs launched excluding Tesla and SpaceX
Two exchange-traded funds excluding companies linked to Elon Musk have been registered in the United States. ETF manager Subversive Capital launched two “Ex-Elon” products that keep a Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 large-cap structure but remove Tesla and SpaceX from inclusion. The funds are designed to block exposure to those companies. Filings say they seek capital gains from broad U.S. large-cap exposure while excluding stakes in firms founded, controlled, led or primarily associated with Musk.

Meta unveils noninvasive BCI that turns thoughts into text without surgery, reaches 61 percent accuracy
Meta has unveiled Brain2Qwerty v2, a noninvasive AI-based brain-computer interface that converts brain activity into text without brain surgery. The system uses helmet-shaped magnetoencephalography equipment and an end-to-end model to reconstruct intended sentences, and it fine-tunes a large language model for neural data. Meta said average word accuracy reached 61 percent. Nine volunteers took part, and results and training code were released alongside a paper in Nature Neuroscience.
