KakaoBank introduces UI, UX and agile culture to UAE delegation
KakaoBank hosted a delegation of about 30 participants from the United Arab Emirates\' NAFIS Leadership Programme at its Pangyo office on July 20, it said on Tuesday. The visitors included officials from the UAE Prime Minister\'s Office, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council and the National University of Singapore, as well as staff from major UAE financial firms. KakaoBank presented its customer-focused UI and UX, technology-driven development approach and agile organisational culture.

Hiring AI shows bias, gives edge to resumes written by same model
A study found that AI used in recruitment tends to rate resumes more highly when they are written by the same chatbot model. Researchers from the University of Maryland, the National University of Singapore and Ohio State University called it “AI self-preference bias” and tested it using 2,245 human-written resumes from LiveCareer.com. Across multiple models, evaluators often favored same-model AI summaries even after controlling for writing quality. Mitigation tests reduced the bias.

South Korea holds Korea-Singapore AI Connect Summit, to build $300 million global fund
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a Korea-Singapore AI Connect Summit in Singapore on Monday during President Lee Jae-myung\'s state visit, and moved to build an AI cooperation framework with Singapore. The SME ministry plans to set up the government\'s first offshore global parent fund in Singapore in the second half of this year and expand it to $300 million by 2030. The science ministry plans a 50 billion won joint research programme starting in 2027.
