NH NongHyup Financial to launch 100 billion won co-growth fund 2 to expand investment in regional materials, parts, equipment and vendors
NH NongHyup Financial Group will create a 100 billion won fund to invest in regional specialised industries and supply-chain companies. The blind fund, tentatively named NH Korea Co-Growth Fund 2, will be managed by NH-Amundi Asset Management. It will be financed with internal group funds contributed by major affiliates including NH NongHyup Bank, NH NongHyup Life Insurance, NH NongHyup Property & Casualty Insurance, NH Investment & Securities and NH NongHyup Capital.

Korea ETF market nears 466 trillion won as asset managers compete more fiercely, internal controls in focus
South Korea’s listed exchange-traded fund market is expanding rapidly, intensifying market-share competition among asset managers. Total net assets stood at 465.98 trillion won as of May 12, with 1,108 ETFs listed. Samsung Asset Management led with 39.64 percent, followed by Mirae Asset with 31.69 percent. Mid-tier firms are focusing on active and theme-based ETFs. Regulators are also reviewing some ETF advertisements for potential internal-control lapses.

NH NongHyup Financial Q1 net profit up 21.7 percent to 868.8 billion won
NH NongHyup Financial Group said on Thursday its first-quarter net profit rose 21.7 percent from a year earlier to 868.8 billion won. By affiliate, NH NongHyup Bank posted 557.7 billion won, NH Investment & Securities 475.7 billion won, and NongHyup Life and General Insurance 67.1 billion won. Net interest income rose 7.3 percent to 2.11 trillion won and non-interest income climbed 51.3 percent to 903.6 billion won.
